Planets/Avatars

I've been bored this morning... (work going slow) And I used to do this thing with Paint.net where I would make these randomly generated planets... so I decided to make some more... Here is the first one.  I made it in normal size and avatar size.

Wow, that's some awesome stuff! You are very talented! I need to see what I can do. I haven't tried to make any space scenese myself. I love the ring around the last one. Would you do another Earth like planet like your first one but with a ring around it? That would be awsome! Maybe add some moons as well.

Re: Planets/Avatars

It is actually really easy... I was looking at making some planets for a game I was working on for fun and I found a bunch of tutorials for Paint.net... I tweaked them a little bit and as long as I stick to the same general steps, I get a planet that turns out pretty good.

The moon was a little tricky... I kinda tilted it to show the north pole a little bit... giving it an off kilter rotation... I tried doing an extra layer to give it a rougher/more mountainous appearance... but It looks more like icey clouds.. still pretty cool IMO.

Wow, that turned out pretty freaking awesome! For some reason that moon really stands out from the planet as almost being a 3D photo. Nice! Is there a link you can share with the turorials for doing these planets? I would like to try some things myself.
